the difference in colour across this context is very intriguing. Inclusions, their frequency, compaction, and composition are uniform across the SU (whish is why we did not divide 15059 into multiple SUs); only the colour varies from east to west. At the lowest limti of the context in the western portion of the sondage, there is a dense cluster of medium-sized tile fragments in no apparent order. The tile fragments are apporximately 6 cm in depth. A charcoal sample was taken from a particularly large and well-defined deposit near the midpoint of the East-WEst axis of the context. It is possible that the bright orangish-brown in the eastern limit of the context is due to the "baked" material in SU 15060 directly underlying this part of the context.
