16000 is a cleaning layer comprised of the remnants of the top soil left behind by the scraper. Soil is grayish brown to brown, with darker patches in areas. Ceramic is rare, but worn fragments of tiles and bricks, as well as small to medium stones from the walls and collapse below appear in the matrix. Materials include a mix of Roman and Medieval materials. Bone found near NE bulk wall. Scraper created an artificial ledge running E to W through the center of the area, but in reality the ground slopes down from N to S.
