brown layer beneath 16030, mottled with redder patches. Empty of materials. Surface is fairly level. Could this be a beaten earth floor? 11000 had small patches of a reddish brown beaten earth floor preserved. Perhaps--if a surface--this was laid down over the chocolate layer of 16054 into which the structure was built. 16030 and 16025 may, in this scenario, be occupation and abandonment related to this 'surface'? And the pit 16043 may have been cut into 16035 during the abandonment?
