See revised interpretation of 17008. This layer was dug in haste on one of the last days of the project and at the time, excavators still interpreted this area as cut by a pit (17028, canceled) and filled with charcoal and debris (17008) in a re-use phase. Post-excavation study revealed that no pit existed, and instead 17096 should have been split into at least two separate contexts. The top layer contained wattle and daub debris and white mortar, which covered a charcoal rich layer equal to 17008 = 17009=17029, both connected to the destruction of the building in the mid 1st c CE.
