A thin use deposit built up over the cocciopesto floor and overlaying the drains. Since the drain cuts the cocciopesto floor (20104=20106=20048) into which the wine tanks were built, it is possible that this layer represent occupation once those tanks were abandoned and the second drain was inserted in the room? However, this appears to have happened before the mid-1st c. fire event. Op. ret. building built, first stone drain inserted, cocciopesto floor + wine tanks built, abandonment, second drain inserted (cutting cocciopesto floor), clay deposit covers drains and floor, second cocciopesto pavement laid, packing/levelling layer, third pavement laid?
