This is the natural, geological clay also found in the western area of Area 22000, into which 22008 was built into, and the dump in 22015 and 22011 was depositted on top. It seems likely that a shallow trench was dug into the natural "chocolate" soil, wjose colour changes from red to brown, and the lowest course of the wall was built into the cut. -EAV
