Well-built foundation for stone 16036. Constructed of courses of med-rounded basalt stones locally sourced bonded with mortar filling with 16032. Quality of construction made us question whether it was built for stone 16036, but fill 16041 abutting stone fills same cut 16032. Possibly so deep because stone base supported arch? FIND COMPARANDA!
