Soil on top of gaps in 16002=16003 was more reddish brown transitioning to grey-brown outside of wall. Soil was more friable at N and S limits of quad. Noticable increase in materials suggest we have found a frequentation layer; more frequent charcoal and darker soil also suggest use-level. Layer partially covers and abuts foundation of 16003.
Not sure what SU my interpretation above is referring to, but 20049 is clearly chocolate, a clay-rich alluvial deposit.
