Partially excavated 17116 to uncover foundation of RPP pier 10060 to determine if MAP's pier 16036 is similar in construction. Removed 17093 to reveal probable fill of a large cut to place foundation (limits of cut unknown and fill not yet given an SU). Fill v. compact clay, brown and red with stone and small tile. Foundation massive, made with tile and stone in greyish mortar (like opus reticulatum wall foundations); not similar to 16045 (foundation of 16036).
