Interface layer exposed by Roman Peasant Project with a high risk of contamination. Was revealed to cover layer 17189, which we believe is the beginning of occupation. (WL) Possible that 17176 = 17189, but is more brown in color due to different exposure to heat (17189 more black-red); but left separate due to contamination risk. Definitely occupation level/use level of stone surface 17190 (RGV).
