Forges in the workshop seem to be simple constructions built directly on the floor of the workshop, most likely consisting of clay walls. This stone and tile may have functioned as a rudimentary wind blocker. A scatter of smaller stones in charcoal rich clay-soil found directly to the east, and may be part of the forge. Planoconvex slag found to the west of the forge near the wall may have been cleaned out of the forge's bottom, conveniently left beside it.
