17212 is an interface between 17210 (hard grey brown clay, accumulation outside room) and 17218 (fill of cut 17217), where the deposits feature some mixing. It contains material from the deposit below and is softer than 17210, but not as clumpy and soft as 17218.

2022-07-07 Marzuolo Archaeologist

As with 17210, this deposit might comprise the accumulation of soils on top of the building collapse after the building was abandoned. There is little cultural material in the matrix, thiogh there have been several special finds
