Ashy, black deposit indicative of a burn event. The deposit is darkest within the cut of 15046, but extends slightly beyond the cut borders in all directions, N, E, S, & W. The deposit is deepest in the cut of 15045- to a depth of approximately 10 cm. Along the margins of 15045's extent it is only approximately 1 cm in depth. Along the southern edge of the cut 15046, SU 15045 overlies a very distinct, bright white lime deposit 15047. ELM suggests this may be fuel for the fire that created the 15045 deposit. On the northern half of the cut no lime or mortar underlies 15045, but a couple of large chunks of mortar are mixed in.
