There was some confusion over the relationships of this context and its interpretation, largely due to plough activity, which raised up and turned over the pavement and its associated contexts. I observed 20092 covering 20090, a thin deposit on top of the opus spicatum floor. This deposit likely built up from use of the floor, and was eventually covered by abandonment and collapse materials. It is only preserved in patches over the in situ sections of the pavement in the NW corner and seems to be mixed with 20092.
When opus spicatum floor was discovered, a brown deposit over the floor was recorded as 20090, but upon excavation it is unclear whether this is more interface or a good archaeological context.
